Homework Expectations

  • Plan books: At the end of each day, time is set aside for students to fill in their plan books with that evening’s homework. Please review the plan books periodically with your child.
  • Daily Reading: Students are expected to read each day. The goal is for children to develop a lifelong love for reading, not to track their time. Please do not set a timer by your child as they read. Rather, read with them, to them, or set aside a family reading time when you can model the importance of reading for children and adults. If you are looking for a general time guideline, reading an additional 20-30 minutes each day has been shown to increase reading skills and test scores substantially.
