Posted below are some photos from the first few weeks of school. Photos include students doing the following: identifying the schoolwide learning expectations, using tools to observe, creating relief maps of Oregon, and acting goofy. It has been a fantastic beginning to the school year.

I love to see the kids in the classroom learning, and not necessarily at their desk! Have you read Boys Adrift? Great book, has a very interesting section on classrooms that allow the kids to sit on the floor, lay, stand or sit. As long as they are paying attention. It makes a lot of sense. Kids (especially young boys) squirm… (related article attached)
Have not read it but learned a similar theory at a Learning Styles conference I attended a few years ago and have been practicing it ever since. Thanks for sharing.
